But, although I can’t actually get away to a beach right now, I’ve found a way to bring that tropical warm vibe to me. And it’s called a Fogcutter cocktail.
The usual version of a Fogcutter is kind of fancy. And although sometimes it’s fun to spend the time and effort making a fancy craft cocktail, sometimes you just need to invite a bunch of friends over, make a giant batch and enjoy yourselves with minimal fuss or prep. Which is exactly what we did for this gathering, and it’s exactly the recipe I’m sharing with you today.
My version of the Fogcutter is, honestly, like a tropical Long Island Iced Tea. It’s boozy AF, sweetly pineapple and citrus, and tastes like vacation. It’s not something you want to have a lot of (ask me how I know), but it’s the perfect cocktail to help transport your tastebuds to warmer weather.
- ½ ounce vodka
- ½ ounce gin
- ½ ounce rum
- ½ ounce brandy
- 1 ounce pineapple juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce cranberry juice
- ½ ounce grapefruit juice
- couple drops of grenadine (add more or less depending on desired sweetness)
- Combine all, mix well and serve, preferably with little plastic umbrellas and Bob Marley.
